PPM Test specialises in designing and manufacturing RF over fibre systems for test and measurement applications, including fibre optic links for EMC and harsh environment measurement testing.
PPM Test’s point2point and Sentinel 3 fibre optic shielded link systems are used to transport analogue/RF signals. Launched in 2017, Sentinel 3 has been adopted by many of the leading civil and military aircraft manufacturers and aircraft certification houses. It was the first ever temperature-controlled multichannel, multilink solution designed for worldwide aircraft EMC test facilities.
The business also supplies associated EMC test components such as magnetic and electric field sensors, baluns and current probes. These systems and products have a broad range of test applications including:
- Aircraft EMC testing and certification – HIRF, LLSF, LLSC and lightning
- Electro-magnetic Pulse testing (EMP, HEMP, NEMP)
- High power RF susceptibility testing (automotive, ships, buildings/structures)
- Ultra-High Voltage testing
- Directed energy testing
- Antenna remoting/antenna characterisation.
Based in the UK, PPM Test has customers around the world including: Airbus, BAE Systems, QinetiQ, RINA Consulting Defence Ltd, Lawrence Livermore National Labs and many other EMP and Aircraft Testing Specialists.
PPM Test is a division of Pulse Power and Measurement Ltd (PPM) which was founded in 1994. In addition to PPM Test, there are three other business divisions:
- ViaLite Communications (designing and manufacturing RF over fibre products and systems)
- PPM Power (pulse power, high voltage, power electronics and power supplies)
- PPM Systems (bespoke systems, antennas and filters etc. for Government, Defence and Satcom applications).

Pulse Power and Measurement is certified to the ISO 9001 quality standard and a Gold Investor in People. The company also holds a Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
